Photo Bio

So where did this photography venture begin?  I’m guessing it was around the time that I used to snoop through my parents hall closet and fiddle with my dad’s leather photo bag full of Canon lenses, extenders and other gadgets that I wasn’t too sure about.  Early on, I recognized how useful a camera was when my Dad would capture moments of our family growing up.  His photos of our family hung on the wall as a reminder of events in our lives (One of my personal favorites was a photos of me at age 4 wearing a batman shirt with a 16″ trout attached to my finger.  It was my first catch, and the grin on my face showed it).

Once I was old enough to borrow Dad’s camera, I hauled that camera to various high school events, documenting events that were happening in my life and the lives of my friends.  During this time, I learned about the mysteries of f-stop, ISO and other jargon that I had no idea about before.  I quickly learned that the 35mm camera had much more capabilities than I ever imagined and I felt inspired and driven to capture higher quality photos of people and landscapes similar to those that I drooled on while pouring through National Geographics as a kid (and today).  So, following my high school crash course in manual exposure and subsequent college photography classes, I’ve continued my enthusiam and passion for capturing images and moments with a greater level of creativity and quality. I find myself searching for new ways to tell stories through an image.  Thankfully, with the digital revolution several years ago, I reached a point in photography where the training wheels have been left in the dust and I’m pulling wheelies.

I just want to thank everyone who has been so supportive of my photography, especially Aaron Floyd, who had the crazy idea that he wanted me to photograph his wedding 6 years ago.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my site.  I can’t wait to update this page and share more photos of special moments in everyone’s lives.  Stay tuned…
