A summary of my nomadic photography experiences – Weddings, Portraits, Events, Travel, and Merry-making

Katie Jimenez and I met on the most unusual of terms; a story that I will reserve for only her, Anthony, and myself. Admittedly, I think it must have been all for the best. Once I met Katie and her soon-to-be husband, we could tell all the kinks were going to work out just fine. Of course, there was the LaCaro connection, but I believe it was much more than that. I was very honored to shoot photos of Katie and Anthony mostly because of Katie’s love for photography and the significance that she held for her wedding day. It seemed to be a perfect formula for the reason why I enjoy wedding photography, as well. The unique images that we all created during their wedding day are sure to fit in to the “timeless” category that I strive to provide for clients with. I hope you all enjoy the few teasers that have been posted within this blog. And look out, because I think that Katie will soon be out shooting photos of others who are planning their “big day.” Afterall, you should see the size of Katie’s wedding planner binder; it was ginormous.
Cheers to both Katie and Anthony for such a beautiful event….. – jon

I met the Leadbetter’s while shooting a wedding with Keith Dunlop at the Presido earlier this year (http://www.jonclaxton.com/blog/2009/02/09/eliza-and-jon-2709/). As the six degrees of freedom would have it, it ended up that Jim and I had a mutual friend in common, the one and only Pat Patten of Toobs Bodyboard Factory fame and folklore (www.toobs.com). So, I’m not sure if Jim planned it this way, but the location of his wedding was conveniently located just minutes north of Morro Bay, and the Toobs Factory Store where it was reported that Jim made some purchases before the big day. When I went to greet the boys for the first time on Saturday, it was obvious that they taken advantage of their surrounding, haven got out of the water just earlier (indicated by the dripping wetsuits outside). What would usually slow a man down in to the state of wanting a nap, Jim still had a ridiculous amount of energy left in him for the rest of the day even after being in the ocean for several hours (maybe there really was something in that pink energy drink he was sipping on). In reality, I am confident that it was a combination of the energy drink and sheer anticipation of marrying the lady of his dreams – Katie.
